Advanced Photography

Apr 2021- Jul 2021

On my journey to my Photography Minor, one of the classes I must complete is Advanced Photography. This class has been super fun. We have dealt more with the Photoshop side of photography. Here is some of the work that I have completed. I hope you enjoy it.

Featured Work

Joiner

A Joiner is when multiple photographs are layered on top of one another to emphasize different parts of a photo with the opacity at 100%. This was a super cool type of photography and it comes from an artist named David Hockney. He was an English painter that took photos to make collages that turned into what is now called Joiners.

Panograph

A Panograph is similar to a joiner where multiple photographs are layered on top of one another, but instead it plays with opacity levels to stitch the photo together. If you were to Google who the creator was of panography, there isn’t one to name. It is still an awesome type of photography and many artists have used this style this in their work today.

Scanography

Scanography is the art of scanning objects with a scanner in a dark room. It’s a unique style of photography and gives another perspective of art. Below are some examples of scanography I did for the class.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
— Elliott Erwitt
